 <묘화>는 백열전구를 모티브로 한 인터랙티브 라이팅 인스톨레이션 작업이다. 100년 이상 우리의 곁을 밝혀주던 백열전구는 에너지 비효율을 이유로 대체되고 생산이 규제되기 시작했다. 곁을 지키던 존재가 사라져 가는 슬픔을 ‘백열전구 장례식’의 형태로 풀어냈다. 프레임으로 사용되는 폐목재는 오랜 세월을 견딘 소재라는 점에서 의미에 대한 사유를 이야기한다.

 수많은 백열전구가 각각 고유한 빛의 밝기와 속도를 가지고 커다란 움직임을 만들며 따뜻함을 전달한다. 관객의 참여로 움직이기도 하는 빛들은 현대 사회에서 결여된 따뜻함을 작품으로 승화시킨다. 백열전구의 소멸과정에서 백열등만이 가지는 따스한 빛, 그리고 잊혀가는 아름다운 것들에 대한 아쉬움을 담았다. 항상 옆에 있을 것 같지만 더 이상은 찾기 어려운 존재가 되어갈 것들에 대한 나름의 인사를 보낸다.

<Mysterious Fire> is an interactive lighting installation based on incandescent light bulbs. Incandescent light bulbs, which have been illuminating our lives for over 100 years, have been replaced due to energy inefficiency and their production has begun to be regulated. The sadness of the disappearance of a being that has been by our side is expressed in the form of an ‘incandescent light bulb funeral.’ The waste wood used as the frame speaks of its meaning in that it is a material that has endured for a long time. Numerous incandescent light bulbs each have their own brightness and speed of light, creating large movements and conveying warmth. The lights, which also move with the participation of the audience, sublimate the warmth lacking in modern society into a work of art. In the process of incandescent light bulbs disappearing, the work contains regret for the warm light that only incandescent lights have and the beautiful things that are being forgotten. It sends its own greetings to things that seem to always be by our side but are no longer difficult to find.
