<칠흑>은 심해처럼 깊고 어두운 공간에서 부유하는 감각을 빛으로 재현 한 라이트 아트(Light Art) 작품이다. 찰나의 빛만이 존재하는 칠흑 같은 어둠 속으로 잠수하듯이 천천히 작품에 빠져든다. 

 심해는 순환하는 수직적 공간 중 가장 아래에 있다. 가장 어두운 곳으로 들어가 감각의 지표가 되는 소리와 빛 같은 외부의 자극에서 멀어지고 나면 자신의 감각에 온전히 집중하게 된다. 두렵기 만한 어둠 속에서 감각에 집중하다 보면 안정감 또한 얻는다. 이렇게 어둠의 양면성 사이로 깊숙이 들어가다 보면, 감각이 새로운 환경에 익숙해지면서 새로운 감각을 찾아 흘러가듯 떠다닌다. 칠흑은 외부를 차단하고 더 깊은 생각과 감정 속으로 빠져들 수 있게 도와준다. 지표가 되었던 감각들이 사라지며 남는 건 두려움이다. 밤하늘의 어둠과 는 달리 나를 압박하는 어둠이 주변을 감싼다. 그렇게 깊은 바닷속을 작은 레이더에 의지하며 나아간다. 호흡도 시각도 청각도 느려진다. 앞을 비추는 잠수함의 빛에 의지하며 더 깊은 심해를 향해 잠수한다.

<Pitch Black> is a light artwork that reproduces the sense of floating in a deep and dark space like the deep sea. The viewer slowly falls into the work as if diving into pitch black where only fleeting light exists.

 The deep sea is at the bottom of the circulating vertical space. Go into the darkest place and get away from external stimuli such as sound and light, which are indicators of one’s senses. Once in the darkness, the audience will be completely focused on their own senses. When the audience focuses on their senses in the frightening darkness, they will also gain a sense of security. As the audience goes deep into the gap between the two sides of darkness, their senses become accustomed to the new environment and float in search of new sensations. <Pitch Black> blocks the outside world and helps one to immerse oneself in deeper thoughts and emotions. The senses that served as indicators disappear, and what remains is fear. Unlike the darkness of the night sky, the darkness that oppresses the viewers surrounds them. It moves through such a deep sea relying on a small radar. Breathing, vision, and hearing slow down. Relying on the light of the submarine shining ahead, it dives into the deeper sea.
